Chutney Sambar Web Series Review

Chutney Sambar Web Series Review: If I were to review "Chutney Sambar" in one line, I’d say, "I am impressed."

Hotstar is truly unpredictable. It has always released Hindi shows part-wise, but recently, it released the entire South Indian show "Chutney Sambar" at once. Why this discrimination?

We've watched and appreciated many Tamil movies, and now it's the turn of the Tamil show "Chutney Sambar," which is available on Disney Plus Hotstar. This time, in a surprising move, they released the entire show at once.

The story of "Chutney Sambar" is set in a café in Ooty, famous for its delicious sambar. The café owner is on his deathbed and tells his son something that shocks him completely. To find out what happens next, you’ll have to watch the show, which has six episodes, each varying in length from 35 to 40 minutes.

Chutney Sambar Review

If I were to review "Chutney Sambar" in one line, I’d say, "I am impressed." I started watching this show without any expectations, thinking it would be a typical dramatic series, but it turned out to be quite impressive.

Sure, the story isn’t extraordinary; similar stories were seen in movies from the 90s. But the show, which is a dramedy (drama plus comedy), is presented very well. Even the emotional scenes are quite good.

When the first episode started, I felt like I was watching a TV serial for the first ten to fifteen minutes. But after that, the episode picked up its pace and changed its atmosphere. The second episode has its unique style, and the twists and emotional evocations in the last two episodes are superb.

To be honest, the emotional scenes in the show are quite good and impactful. The drama is well-executed, though the comedy is a bit mixed—some parts are fine, while others are faded.

Yogi Babu leads the show impressively, whether it’s in drama or comedy. Krish Hassan, playing his younger brother, has written his role very well. The character Sofi also has a significant impact on the story. The journey of the characters is depicted enjoyably.

The locations in Ooty are beautifully presented, showcasing the area's beauty and greenery. The music is decent—impactful in some places, and just okay in others.

The good thing is that the story concludes within season 1, making it a limited series.

I particularly enjoyed the bonding of the characters and found it entertaining.

Conclusion

All in all, it's a good drama with emotional scenes and light comedy. However, there were some places where I expected more emotional scenes, but comedy was introduced instead. Nonetheless, this web series will make your heart happy, and you’ll feel like watching a true family drama without any inappropriate content.

I’d give this show 7.5 out of 10 stars.

In terms of parental guidance, there is no inappropriate content, such as explicit language or scenes.

The Hindi dubbing of this series is also good. If you watch it in Hindi like I did, there are a few issues with subtitles not matching the actors' dialogues, which can be a bit off-putting.

That’s my review of the web series "Chutney Sambar." I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, please share this blog post with your family and friends, and feel free to leave good comments—it would make me very happy.

See you next time. My friend has invited me over for dinner.
